Tales From The Field

We often send our babies out into the world, and never hear back from them. On rare occasions though, we send them out the door and they return with amazing stories. We recently received the following email from Melvin. Here is Melvin’s tale of riding his Wormtown, in the Single Speed World Championships in South Africa this year. (PS. Melvin might have still been a little drunk when he wrote this, but that only makes it better)

The single speed world champs was the first race I did on the rigid fork. The first ride, actually, besides a cruise around my neighborhood. I don’t drink a lot of beer. After the second beer stop, at the top of a 8km climb, I had a 20km descent on the most incredible singletrack. It was a little rutted. I got arm pump like I have never had in my life. I was drunk too. It was in a wolf suit in 85 degree heat. It was so much fun. I’m changing my grips.

I got lots of comments on the bike, and the fork. The most ambiguous comment on the fork (I still can’t figure it out is that I went for the “agricultural solution”. What the fuck does that mean? I dropped that idiot on the climb anyway.

Yo Marty!

PS your new CX bikes are crazy. I have logged on to paypal and called your email address up more than once and then had to restrain myself.

Lord knows I’m getting one

Send us your awesome tales of adventure on your Geekhouse.

ps. This story may be so rad, because Marty endowed that fork with mystical rock and roll properties before sending it out the door.
