Nick R’s Complete Touring Bike

We just finished Nick R’s Woodville Rando bike a few weeks ago! Both the front and rear bags are by Swift Industries. We love their bags, plus they’re made in the good ol’ U.S. of A, who could ask for more?
The rest of the build includes full Rival Group, Thomson stem/bar, Velocity A23 wheels, King headset, and Jack Taylor tires. This is the type of bike we love to both build and ride!

Adding a little custom Sugarcoat to the Velo Orange rack on the front really made all the difference. Matching the light blue sticker kit, I really love how this build came together.

All the Geekhouse frames use True Temper tubing. This Woodville was built with OX Platinum, a heat treated and air hardened tube of choice. Light and crisp, simple and sweet.

We’re loving our new sticker kits, hand-built in South Boston, MA. Don’t even try to call it SoBo.

The V2 of the Geekhouse Cyclocross drops are now available. We decided to beef up the drops this year to take on any use and abuse you may find on the trails. And with a little welding magic these drops are available with rack and fender mounts as well. Have fun with the bike Nick, see you on the road and trails!

2013 Geekhouse/Cuppow Club Kit, Pre-Order!!!

Announcing the 2013 Geekhouse/Cuppow Club Kit Pre-sale. We will be taking orders on our new kits over the next 3 weeks. Delivery is slated for 6-8 weeks from time of our order. Check out the Store page for more details. These are our Summer kits, new CX kits to be unveiled later this Fall.

We unveiled the new kits this year at the Rapha Northeast Gentleman’s race. It’s something we look forward to, and dread all year. At 130 miles with climbs as much as 15,000 feet in elevation, these rides feature some of the best riding the Northeast has to offer. We might not have been the fastest riders, but we are always ‘Cat 1 for fun’.

Cuppow and Geekhouse have now formed a lasting partnership on our CX race team. But we like these guys so darn much, we decided to partner on all apparel both racing and riding just for fun (Is there any difference?). Featured here in Mr Joshua Robot, one of our Elite CX racers, now residing in the Bay Area.

Our Kits were designed by the lovely and talented Adria Klora and printed, hand cut, and sewn in Los Angelos by Endo Customs. We love US made products, and strongly believe in the quality and craftsmanship of what Endo produces. I mean look at those colored strips around the tops of these bibs. You’re not even looking at the bibs are you!?!

Thanks as always to the amazing Heather McGrath for the amazing photo shoot. As well as to our sexy models, Bradford Smith and Joshua Robot. We hope you like the kits as much as we do, and we look forward to see you on the roads and trails. Up, Up, and away!

More Gems from the Geekhouse Vault

Here’s another bike that we’ve been working on for a while, Evan P’s custom painted (by Spectrum Powderworks) polo bike with S&S couplers.

We did a special box crown fork for him that we have only done once before for NAHBS a few years ago.

The polished brazed on badge will look great with the silver components that Evan is going to put on it.

Tripple triangle, curved seat tube, and custom paint, OH MY! Spectrum Powderworks did a great job with this powder and paint overlay with “mud” splattered black paint.

It took a long time to get this bike perfect, but it turned out amazing. Thanks Evan P. for having so much patience!

John Watson’s Complete Woodville

Ladies and gentlemen here are some gorgeous pictures by John Watson of his complete touring Woodville!

And no again, we do not pay John for any of his posts or photos. He bought this bike from us for full boat retail! Well actually in reality, we have some pretty bad dirt on him, so he’s strongly motivated…;)

John has this build completely dialed! From the Bruce Gordon Rock n’ Road tires, to the Edelux light and hub this bike is perfect for long off -road adventures.

The brazed on downtube badge is great since this bike is going to be used and abused in the best way possible. And I know I mentioned it in the last post, but Brad did an amazing job with the powdercoat. Thanks Brad!

The custom stem we made for him looks even better in the sunshine than our pictures in the shop (it might help that John’s a great photographer…just a little)

Here’s the custom rear rack we did, you know, just casually threw some things together, totally didn’t take long at all. Brad totally didn’t yell at me multiple times for volunteering us to do this. It’s all good!

We love that angry bee purr of the Chris King rear hub. Matched with the Velocity Diad rims, makes for a beautiful and US made wheel.

And finally the pièce de résistance!!! We’re really happy with the way it came out and can’t wait to see the exciting adventures that John does with it! Stay tuned for lots of Blog, Instagram’s, FB’s. Like I mentioned earlier, what we got on John is super bad, like think Ashleygate meets that time PRISM told everybody at work what you’re really looking at on the internet…

John Watson’s Woodville

Going to put up a couple of posts on this rig. Long story short, this is the second Woodville John has purchased from us. The first one was a NAHBS 2011 bike, and was unfortunately stolen. But thankfully John had insurance and so he is back up and rolling (after a bit of waiting). Check out his full post here.

Big shout out to Bradford Smith on the amazing in-house powder job on this one (along with all his other help on this). Brad powdered the Geekhouse braze-on DT badge black, cleaned up all around it. Then sprayed the Army green dry, wiped off the black logo, cooked on the green. Then after more clean up went back and added a matte clear to the whole frame. Probably his best powder job to date!

Also included in the build is a custom Geekhouse stem including Paragon 31.8mm face, a tall stack height with a -17 degree rise, and integrated cable hanger. We wanted to go all-out on this bike, and the look of a matching custom stem seemed like an ideal choice.

When I told Brad I wanted to build John custom segmented racks with detachable low-rider mounts. He looked at me like I was a little crazy. And he was right, because these took us a long, long time to dial in and get them perfect. So No, we will not be offering these racks any time soon, haha!

We changed a bunch from John’s old Woodville, forgoing the S&S couplers and decorative triple triangle. And ended up with a bike that has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Even the logo’s are integrated using out stainless braze-on badges. This thing looked so good raw, I had to take some shots.

The raw stem looked so good, especially with welding discoloration. Wish we could have left it like this!

We love the look of our segmented racks, which we started originally with the 2013 NAHBS bikes. We feel these racks perfectly match the Yo Marty segmented forks.

More words and pics coming on this bike tomorrow. Thanks for listening!

Shop Days

Spring has sprung here at the Geekhouse shop, lucky for us our good friend Taryne gave us these plants this winter, to help with cabin fever. Now that it’s warm out we’ve kicked ourselves into gear to get more bikes out the door, so that you fine patient folk can enjoy your bikes in actuality and not just in your imagination.

In-between cutting tubes, planning top secret club kits, and jet setting, we’ve had plenty of time to NOT get distracted. I mean, come one, look how many tools we use.

Let’s take a serious look at what we do around the shop. Bryan (Royal H Cycles) and Brad are pros when it comes to getting work done. Such serious men, doing such serious work.

Just look at how kind Bryan is “helping Brad out with something in his pocket”… or whatever is happening here.

Not even loud dance music and my singing can stop Brad from getting his work done. Look at him put that decal on like there’s not a camera next to his face.

On a more serious note, we’ve finally finished John Watson’s newest Geekhouse, a Woodville touring bike, so that he can do some more badass rides around whatever exciting country he’s going to next. We’re sending it off now to Death Spray Custom for a paint job next!

In the end the secret to our success is candy. A lot of candy, hidden around the shop by our office manager. Because you can’t spell Geekhouse, without chocolate…
